Bioremediation is the use of microbes to break down and “eat” oil, grease, and carbon-based contaminants. This proven biotechnology is used to assist in the clean-up of wastewater treatment ponds and lagoons in petroleum refineries and industrial manufacturing facilities all around the world.
To turn the unit on and off, use the rocker switch located on the power cord.
The drying rack will hold up to 75 lbs.
The sink will hold up to 100 lbs.
Add BT5 READY TO USE Degreasing Solution as needed. The fill level line is indicated on the strainer inside the basin. If maintained properly, the solution is self-cleaning and can be used repeatedly and maintain its cleaning strength. Small amounts will evaporate over time, splash out, or will be carried out on the parts that were cleaned. When the fill level gets low, top it off with more BT5 READY TO USE.
BenchtopPRO® does not contain or need a removable filter. Unlike the larger SmartWashers, the microbes are located in the MircoPRO Pack® packets, not in the filters.
Upon startup, add one (1) MicroPRO Pack® to your BenchtopPRO®. Add one (1) MicroPRO Pack® every 30 days for ongoing maintenance. This simple action will help ensure that there are enough microbes to eat the dirt and grime, and your unit will work as intended. If you use your BenchtopPRO® less than once a month, add two (2) MicroPRO Pack® packets upon startup.
For normal use: If you add (1) MicroPRO Pack® at least every 30 days and top off the BT5 solution when it gets low, you will likely never need to drain and refill your BenchtopPRO®. The microbes contained in the MicroPRO Pack® remove contaminants from the degreasing solution through the process of bioremediation. For heavy use: Your BenchtopPRO® may require an annual drain and refill to remove any significant buildup of sludge.

Yes, the BT5 and MicroPRO Pack® are compatible with all BenchtopPRO® models.
BT5 contains no harmful solvents and the microbes in the MicroPRO Pack® packets are non-pathogenic. However, people may have varying skin sensitivities, therefore we recommend using gloves. When cleaning dirty parts, it is always good practice to wear gloves and safety glasses.
No. Other SmartWasher solutions need heat to activate the microbes and are not designed for the BenchtopPRO®. Only BT5 solution should be used in the BenchtopPRO®.
If you do not give the microbes in your BenchtopPRO® dirt, grime, and oils to eat by cleaning parts, they will die over time, and you will need to add a new MicroPRO Pack® packet.
